UK Project Update: Bynea Treatment Works, Llanelli, Wales

Dŵr Cymru Welsh Water recently announced its half-year results confirming its strong performance over the past six months enabling the company to deliver £123 million of investment in infrastructure and customer services in 2015 and 2016. As a result, WJ Groundwater has been subcontracted to work on improving Bynea Treatment Works in Llanelli, Wales.

UK Project Update: United Utilities, Manchester

WJ Groundwater has recently completed work on a tunnelling project to install a ‘Combined Sewer Overflow (CSO)’ to counteract ‘Unsatisfactory Intermittent Discharge of Storm Water (UIDs)’. Neil Coulter (Contracts Manager) project managed the installation of our dewatering technologies for a number of the deep structures at United Utilities at Eccles, Manchester. Our involvement in the installation began in March and concluded at the end of September.

UK Project Update: M74 Raith Interchange

 

WJ Groundwater has commenced dewatering works on a new underpass that will run beneath the M74 Raith Interchange near Glasgow.

The project is part of a massive £1 billion upgrade of the motorway network to the east and south east of Glasgow and is due to end in about 12 months time.

Qatar Project Update: Marina Yacht Club – Lusail City

WJ Groundwater is now working with contractors, Ceinsa – JTC Joint Venture to dewater the construction site at the future Marina Yacht Club in Lusail City, Doha.

Work on the grand project’s design and build began in August 2014. As part of the complex flood prevention works already undertaken, a temporary earth bund has been constructed to allow temporary structures such as work site offices to remain in place. Meanwhile, the adjacent site will be flooded with diverted water in order to keep the construction site dry whilst building work is carried out.
