Following on from the purchase of the supremely handsome Range Rover, we are welcoming a further addition to the fleet. A DAF LF220 18 tonne dropside lorry. It comes equipped with an impressive 10 tonne capacity crane.

So far 2016 has been a year of mixed fortune for WJ Groundwater-sponsored cycle squad Team Frankie’s. One of the biggest changes is the reduced racing calendar. WJ Groundwater congratulates Khrina Lopez of our Dubai office on becoming ISO 9001 certified. Khrina received her IRCA Transition Training Course Certificate in late May.
The auditing process and achieiving certification status is no ‘walk in the park’ either. We are immensely proud of Khrina for her hard work and dedication for the company.

Both Phases 1 & 2 of the redevelopment of the Windermere Steam Boat Museum are now complete. The aim is to create a series of new buildings, at its shore side location on Lake Windermere, to house the exhibits, a conservation workshop and a new visitor centre.
WJ Groundwater completed the drilling and installation of the dewatering applications for Phase 1 in March 2016. Read our earlier blog.

WJ Groundwater is pleased to announce the purchase of to our fleet. The 150 kva, high spec generators are equipped with cutting edge technology including GSM trackers and data loggers. The latter is designed to remotely sense mechanical faults service time and are en-route to a major project.
The new generators are fitted with the latest diesel engines capable of generating very low emission levels and a low level of noise output measuring 69DBa. The generators will first see some action on our M74 project in Scotland.

On the 10th of May, WJ Groundwater’s Director (Overseas) Paul Turner attended a MEED Breakfast Event entitled, The Outlook for GCC Construction and Projects. The idea behind the event was to share ideas where ‘Chatham House Rules’ have been invoked. For those curious, the rules were invented in order to encourage open discussion on any matters without the speaker having to go ‘on record’. In effect, information is shared freely but the speaker can remain anonymous and uncredited if the speech is documented.

The School of Engineering at American University Dubai (AUD) hosted the 3rd edition Deep Foundations Institute Middle East Conference (DFIMEC) 2016. The event is one of the most important and well attended in the region and is a leading technical conference in the field of foundation engineering.
