A WJ Christmas – Training, Charity and of course lots of fun!

2018 was a momentous year in the long history of WJ, with the launch of WJ Group, and major global projects such as Thames Tideway in London and Eglinton Crosstown LRT in Toronto hitting full throttle, therefore as the year drew to a close it was the perfect opportunity for all of our staff to let their hair down and relax.

At WJ we are defined by our staff – this not only means ensuring that they are well trained and motivated, but also that occasionally we have chance to get together and have some fun!

Fortunately we managed to achieve all of these during two sessions in the final weeks of 2018, as all of the UK operations staff convened for events in Nottingham and London, for some very competitive go-kart racing, and crucial manual handling training run very adeptly by our own in-house SHEQ team of Robert Pryer and Jo Owens.

Of course Christmas is not just about fun, but is also about giving and receiving, and at our Nottingham event, our Yard Manager, Lee Stone, organised a ‘Best (or worst!) Christmas Jumper’ competition, with some very questionable entries, but more importantly, raising £300 for Save The Children

Here’s to 2019!
